What age do you recommend I start taking my children to see a dentist?
Our practice recommends that children between the ages of 4 and 5 come in for their very 1st dental cleaning and examination. We strive to give your child a good and positive first dental experience, so we truly recommend that your child takes place in a cleaning with their parent, in order to get them familiarized with the experience. This helps strengthen the bond and trust for our dental staff when your child is approached.
What is gingivitis?
Gingivitis is the mouth’s reaction to oral bacteria. If left untreated, the infection spreads to the bone where the tooth is held and can lead to tooth loss, bad breath, and pain.
When should I change my toothbrush?
Every four to six months based on the frequency of use.
How do I know if I have gum disease?
Gum disease (gingivitis) will show itself as red, swollen gums that bleed when brushed or flossed. Many people are alarmed when they notice this bleeding and will then brush more gently, if at all. It is important that you continue to clean regularly and firmly in order to fight the condition.
I do not like my smile; is there something that I can do?
There are many options available to correct your teeth: broken or discolored teeth can be covered with porcelain veneers or crowns. Misaligned or crooked teeth can be corrected through orthodontic treatment such as braces.
